First library setup in Mornye: which folders to include, what the scan builds, and the small habits that keep albums, artists and sections tidy.

Start with the file you trust
A good library starts before the first scan, with a player you trust. If you have not installed yet, begin from Mornye app and come back once the app is on your phone with library access granted.
Then take two minutes to look at your music folders as they are. Mornye will faithfully organise what it finds, including the chaos, so a quick glance now saves detective work later.
Choose folders like you mean it
Point Mornye at the folders that genuinely hold your music, and leave out the rest. Voice notes, podcast downloads and ringtones all carry audio, and all of them will happily appear as mystery albums if you invite the whole phone into the library.
Most listeners do well with one main music folder and perhaps a second for new arrivals. Fewer sources means a scan that finishes quickly and shelves that make sense at a glance. Our notes on organising music files for Mornye cover the neighbouring half of this topic.
What the scan builds
The scan reads each file's tags and builds the backbone views: albums grouped by album tag, artists by artist tag, and your personal sections on top. Files with tidy tags land perfectly. Files with no tags arrive honestly labelled as unknown, which is the player's way of asking for help.
Do not judge the library by its roughest corner. Fix order matters: enjoy the ninety percent that landed cleanly, then improve the rest gradually with the file habits in our organising guide. The file itself waits on the Mornye download page whenever you are ready.
Sections from day one
Personal sections are where a library becomes yours. Make two or three immediately: one for heavy rotation, one for new arrivals you are still judging, and perhaps one for a mood you return to often, like cooking or the drive home.
Resist building twenty sections on day one. Shelves you actually maintain beat a beautiful system you abandon, and Mornye makes adding a section later painless. There is more on this in organising Mornye library sections, written from the same test library.
The weekly five minutes
Libraries stay tidy in small doses. Once a week, when new music lands, check that it scanned into the right album, move it to a section if it earned one, and fix one old tag that has been bothering you.
That rhythm is the entire secret. The listeners with beautiful libraries are not more organised than you; they just spend five minutes at a time, regularly, and let the player do the rest. Listeners who make the Mornye download their daily player tend to stay for this feeling: a library that answers instantly and asks for nothing.
Quick Answers
Will Mornye move or change my music files?
No. The player reads your files and builds its library views from their tags. Your folders stay exactly where they are, untouched.
What if some albums appear twice?
Duplicate entries usually mean the same files live in two folders you included, or an album's tracks carry slightly different album tags. One folder per album and consistent tags cure it.
Can I exclude a folder after including it?
Yes. Adjust the library folders in settings and rescan, and the excluded music leaves the library views while the files themselves stay on your phone.
